Versiva XC Gelling Foam Non-Adhesive Dressing with
Hydrofiber Technology is a sterile wound dressing combining the benefits of
foam dressings with the unique properties of Hydrofiber Technology. It is
indicated for light to moderately exudating chronic and acute wounds when used
as a primate dressing and moderate to heavy exudate when used in conjunction
with a primary dressing.
Convatec Versiva XC non-adhesive dressing contains
Hydrofiber Technology, the unique gelling actions locks in fluid, preventing it
spreading laterally, retaining it, even under pressure.
The fluid retention properties of the Versiva XC dressing
combined with its lower moisture vapour transmission rate, or MVTR, ensure that
the wound healing environment remains moist.
In vitro testing of Convatec Versiva XC non-adhesive dressing
compared to traditional foam dressings demonstrated its superior retention
capability, with more than 90% of fluid retained within the dressings under a
40 mmHg load (p<0.05).
The dressing conforms closely to the wound surface to help
minimize dead space where bacteria can thrive.
